FUME CONTROL
TECHNOLOGY, INC. (FCT)
provides an extensive line of services for your Cooling Tower’s
needs at your facility. We provide contract services, as well
as annual and semi-annual preventive maintenance programs.
Our technicians are very familiar with various different makes
and models of Cooling Towers.
Dirt,
sand, and debris that form during normal operation can significantly
compromise the efficiency of a Cooling Tower. Calcium and silicate
deposits that develop on condensing coils, wet/deck fill, and
mist eliminators reduce the area of the heat transfer surface
thus diminishing the cooling capacity of the unit. More importantly,
if the water inside the sump area makes contact with bare metal,
corrosion can start to develop. If this is left to that can
quickly bore holes through the metal, creating leaks in the
cold-water basin. Even with the best water conditioning treatment,
corrosion and scale can begin to form quite rapidly in a dirty
tower and eventually lead to holes and rust in your unit. More
importantly, it will significantly reduce the quality of air
conditioning and limit the your ability to cool important equipment.
Scale and algae are removed from even the most hard to get to
places with a high-pressure water sprayer. It is also important
to check the integrity of the unit’s structure for any signs
of corrosion.
